But putting in the perspective of 'church is just word', it allows me to see many things much differently. I have spent mos...I REALLY REALLY loved this post!! I have spent most of my life counseling others. From crisis intervention to PTSD to spiritual guidance. I have always done it from my home or as a volunteer at a hospital,and not in an actual church because of, as you say, prior trauma with religious organizations. I was excited to be aprt of a church that was being started here in my town, but then the "crazy pagans" took over and it fell apart. I have thought of starting one myself, but I have been a single mother of special needs kids since I was a teen so I never got to have any kind of "official" training in how to do that.
